Whistleblower system
A whistleblower system enables employees, business partners, customers and other stakeholders to report possible violations. It can also be used to ask questions about compliant behavior. The issues are clarified in a documented manner. This helps to ensure that your company's Code of Conduct and associated compliance guidelines are followed and upheld. A whistleblower system also contributes to improvements in Data protection, in information security and in the occupational health and safety of your employees. Management, employees and all stakeholders can work together to ensure that the applicable laws and internal regulations on safety and ethical standards are complied with.
Whistleblower Directive
Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council of October 23, 2019 on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law is commonly known as the Whistleblower Directive. It requires legal entities in the private sector, i.e. companies with 50 or more employees, to set up channels and procedures for anonymous reporting and follow-up.
HITGuard supports affected and interested companies in providing the prescribed reporting channels and also in implementing feedback and follow-up measures in accordance with the regulation and within the specified deadlines.
Compliance violations
Compliance means that companies and their employees adhere to applicable laws as well as internal guidelines for compliance with ethical standards. A compliance violation can result, for example, from the acceptance of an expensive gift or a price-fixing agreement, as this may violate national or international laws or an organization's code of conduct. If employees have the opportunity to clarify in advance whether an action is in breach of the law or regulations, many breaches can be avoided in the first place.
HITGuard allows you to handle your employees' compliance issues and reports in a comprehensibly documented manner.
Occupational safety
As every employee is obliged to contribute to occupational health and safety by reporting not only accidents at work but also near misses, companies should enable their employees to communicate directly with the responsible persons, such as the safety officer. The easier it is to make this report, the quicker it is possible to react accordingly and take the necessary measures to prevent further accidents or near misses of this kind.
With HITGuard, you can establish a direct link between your employees and those responsible for occupational health and safety in your company, through which anonymous or open enquiries and reports can be made.
